The Indian Navy has successfully completed user trials of the Extended Range Anti-Submarine Rocket (ERASR) between June 23 and July 7, 2025, from INS Kavaratti. Designed for deployment through the Indigenous Rocket Launcher (IRL) fitted on Indian Naval ships, the ERASR system marks a major step in strengthening India's underwater warfare capabilities.
The rocket system has been jointly developed by DRDO's Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune, in collaboration with the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory and the Naval Science & Technological Laboratory.
