Bhubaneswar, Nov. 21 -- A routine aerial display at the internationally-acclaimed Dubai Air Show turned into a moment of alarm after an Indian Air Force Tejas fighter jet crashed during a demonstration on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 2:10 pm local time, sending a plume of thick black smoke over Al Maktoum International Airport, where thousands had gathered to witness the biennial aviation event.
According to the Associated Press (AP), it remains unclear whether the pilot managed to eject before impact. The Tejas is equipped with a Martin-Baker zero-zero ejection seat, designed to allow pilots to escape safely even at low speeds and altitudes.
