Bhubaneswar, Dec. 4 -- An Indian Navy helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on a farmland near Amarda village under Rasagobindapur Police Limits in Mayurbhanj district, on Wednesday.

This was due to a technical issue, Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Guntupalli said.

The incident transpired as the crew navigated through the region, which houses an airstrip of historical importance from the Second World War, situated about five kilometres away from the landing point.

"The emergency landing was necessitated by a technical fault, with the helicopter managing to resume its journey after a delay of approximately 15 to 20 minutes," the SP stated.
