Bhubaneswar, Jan. 6 -- India has submitted three nominations for accreditation as International Wetland Cities. The three cities are Indore, Bhopal and Udaipur. The Wetland City Accreditation under the Ramsar Convention will help the cities gain international recognition for their efforts to protect natural or human-made wetlands. Note that wetlands generally refer to an area where water covers the soil or is present at or near the soil surface mostly throughout the year.
