Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- In a major breakthrough, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans busted a Maoist hideout at Niyamgiri hills near Tadijhola forest under Lanjigarh block in Kalahandi district on Saturday and seized huge cache of explosives, arms and ammunition and other Mao articles from the spot.

Based on intelligence reports, CRPF personnel launched a combing operation in the forest and seized huge amount of explosives, two pistols, 35 gelatin sticks, 50 detonators, batteries, electric wire, ropes, urea tiffins, 13 live bullets and other incriminating materials with the help of sniffing dogs.

"Thanks to the effort by the sniffing dogs, we could seize the explosives, arms and ammunition," said Mitu Roy, a CRPF official.
