With a monsoon trough at mean sea level passing southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre on Sunday predicted heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning in several Odisha districts during next 5 days.
The IMD has issued Yellow Warning in these districts of the State till August 8.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, "The highest maximum (day) temperature of 37.0degC was recorded yesterday at Nayagarh and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.0degC was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha."
