Continuous rainfall for the past three days has caused waterlogging in several areas of Sundargarh district. Villages, particularly in Hemgiri and Lephripara blocks, have been surrounded by water, disrupting movement and leaving residents distressed.
In Lephripara block, the road at Darlipali village has gone underwater, while in Hemgiri block, the Manoharpur-Sarbahal road has been washed away due to the downpour. Locals reported that the NTPC Darlipali Thermal Power Plant has worsened drainage, resulting in knee-high water flowing on roads, into houses and shops, and even over Darlipali bridge.
