The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across Odisha till July 5, as a low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal regions of West Bengal and Bangladesh. Due to this system, many parts of Odisha are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall over the next few days.
In response to the weather conditions, IMD has issued a Red Warning for extremely heavy rainfall in four districts today- Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Balasore, indicating a very high likelihood of adverse impacts and urging authorities to remain on high alert.
