India, March 12 -- While several regions in Odisha are experiencing a rise in temperature, a severe heat wave is expected to hit Western Odisha on March 15 and 16, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted on Wednesday.
According to a bulletin issued by the regional weather office, an orange alert for heat wave condition has been issued for Bolangir, Boudh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda on March 15.
Similarly, a heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur on March 16 and an orange warning has been issued for the districts.
Meanwhile by 11:30 AM on Wednesday, Jharsuguda has recorded a temperature of 37 degree C, surpassing the 33.6 degree C recorded on the previous day ...
