Bhubaneswar, April 13 -- Odisha on Saturday witnessed a rise in temperatures with mercury touching 39 degrees Celsius in two places.

As per the IMD, several places in the state recorded a rise in temperature with Paralakhemundi becoming the hottest city. It recorded maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Baripada at 39, Chandbali 38.6 and Bhubaneswar 38.4 degrees Celsius.

The IMD on Saturday forecast that a gradual rise in maximum temperature (Day Temperature) by 5-6 degrees Celsius is likely during the next five days at many places over the districts of Odisha.
