India, March 28 -- Bhubaneswar, the Capital of Odisha, experienced a surge in the day temperature, reaching 40.2 Degrees Celsius, the city's first encounter with the 40-degree mark this year, official sources said on Friday.
Besides, Jharsuguda recorded an even hotter day, with temperatures rising to a blistering 43 Degrees Celsius.
Across the State, the rising mercury continues to impose utter discomfort. Sambalpur felt the heat with a temperature recording of 41.6 Degrees Celsius, whilst Hirakud was not far behind at 41.2 Degrees Celsius. Rourkela and Chandbali both reported temperatures of 40.4 Degrees Celsius.
