Bhubaneswar, Jan. 28 -- The Sambalpur district on Wednesday witnessed a shocking murder after a gupchup (puchka) vendor was brutally killed and his body was dumped near a forest under the Kuchinda police station limits. The crime took place near the Domuhani forest road, close to Khadhiapali village, sending shockwaves through the local area.

The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Palei, a resident of Khadiapali village, who earned his livelihood by selling gupchup in nearby villages. According to family members, Jagannath followed a fixed routine and would leave home early every morning to sell gupchup from village to village. On the day of the incident, he left home as usual but did not return by evening.
