Bhubaneswar, Feb. 13 -- A goods train was temporarily halted on Thursday after a herd of elephants was spotted crossing the railway track at Nambira under the South Eastern Railway route in Odisha. The precautionary measure enabled the animals to cross safely without any untoward incident.

According to reports, a herd of four elephants, including two calves, was seen approaching and crossing the railway line. Upon receiving prior information about the movement of the elephants, railway personnel ensured that a goods train heading towards Bansapani was stopped nearly 200-metre before the crossing point.
