Bhubaneswar, Jan. 5 -- Gold and silver prices witnessed a sharp rise once again on Monday, driven by increasing geopolitical instability following the United States' attack on Venezuela. The renewed global uncertainty has prompted investors to turn to precious metals as safe-haven assets, leading to a spike in prices after markets reopened following a two-day holiday.
According to market sources, silver prices jumped by Rs.8,000 per kilogram in a single day, while gold prices rose by around Rs 1,500 per 10 grams.
As per today's rates, 22-carat gold increased by Rs 1,450 per 10 grams to reach Rs 1,25,950, while 24-carat gold rose by Rs 1,580 per 10 grams to Rs 1,37,400.
