India, Feb. 13 -- In a tragic incident, the body of a girl student of a reputed government school in Cuttack was recovered from the hostel under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Shubhasmita Dash, who was a student of Class X. She was a resident of the Dhenkanal district. Shubhasmita was reportedly preparing for her Matriculation examination.

Meanwhile, the deceased's family members have alleged that the girl has been murdered.

According to the family members, they received a phone call around 11am this morning and they were told by somebody about the death of the girl. The victim's mother had spoken to her the evening before, making the news more unexpected and distressing.
