A 7-foot-long python was rescued from Udala forest area in Dugudha village of Mayurbhanj district and later released into the Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary on Wednesday.
According to sources, the reptile was found entangled in a fishing net in the backyard of a villager's house. Locals spotted the snake struggling to free itself and immediately informed a snake rescue team.
Acting promptly, the rescue team reached the spot and carefully freed the python from the net without causing it harm. After ensuring it was in good health, the snake was released back into its natural habitat inside Similipal.
