In a rare incident, villagers in the Bangiriposhi forest region of Mayurbhanj district stumbled upon a massive python while out fishing. The reptile, measuring nearly 8 feet in length and weighing around 30-40 kilograms, was rescued and later released back into the wild by forest officials.

According to sources, the incident took place near Anlatada village under Rajaloka Gram Panchayat. Villagers had set up a bamboo fish trap in the nearby water streams.
