Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- The Gajapati Police have uncovered a major cybercrime racket in the district, successfully tracing 49 bank accounts allegedly linked to fraudulent activities.

Out of the 49 traced accounts, 11 were identified for further investigation, leading to the registration of cases at four separate police stations. Approximately Rs. 4 lakh was seized from the identified accounts, and the accounts were subsequently frozen as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police sources revealed that the traced accounts are suspected to have been used for unlawful financial transactions, and further scrutiny is underway to understand the full scope of the fraud.
