Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27 -- The Odisha Assembly on Thursday witnessed a historic moment as President Droupadi Murmu visited the House for the first time after assuming the highest constitutional office of the country.

Her arrival at the Assembly holds special emotional significance, marking a full-circle moment in her political journey, from serving as an MLA in the same House to returning today as the President of India.

President Murmu served as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2009. Representing the Rairangpur constituency; she was elected twice, earning the trust and support of the people of Mayurbhanj district.
