The political unrest in Odisha is showing no signs of slowing down as the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday observed a Balasore bandh in protest over the tragic death ofa second-year B.Ed student from Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College.

The student had succumbed to severe burn injuries after allegedly being driven to suicide due to inaction on her harassment complaint.

The bandh, which began at 6 AM, is set to continue till 2 PM, with normal life in the town being brought to a near standstill.
