Bhubaneswar, Oct. 17 -- During the Diwali week in 2025, several states across India will observe bank holidays in line with regional festival celebrations.
According to reports, these closures align with the RBI's negotiable instruments holiday schedule and follow state-specific observance of Diwali dates.
The Diwali festival itself is slated for Monday, October 20, 2025, though a few states mark it on October 21 along with Govardhan Puja, leading to variation in bank holiday dates.
On October 18 (Dhanteras), banks will remain open nationwide while on October 19 (Choti Diwali) they will be closed everywhere.
