India, Feb. 6 -- A fire broke out at a coal mine operated by the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in Talcher of Angul district early Thursday morning. The blaze is believed to have been caused by a short circuit, leading to significant smoke from the silo conveyor belt.
According to sources, the fire caused damage to the belt and various pieces of machinery used in the mining operations. The incident occurred as coal was being conveyed through the silo belt, with the fire reportedly affecting around 50 to 60 metres of it. Intense smoke filled the area, creating a challenging environment for workers on site.
