Bhubaneswar, Dec. 15 -- An FIR has been registered against Jagatsinghpur District Mining Officer Satish Tarai in connection with alleged irregularities and suspected links with the sand mafia. The case was registered on December 13 at the Sadar police station following directions from the District Collector, officials said.

According to official sources, the FIR was lodged by Jagatsinghpur Sub-Collector Prasanta Kumar Tarai as part of an administrative action initiated after concerns were raised over the conduct of the mining officer. The allegations include involvement in multiple irregularities and alleged association with persons engaged in illegal sand mining activities in the district.
