A mysterious disease has claimed the lives of 14 sheep in Jenasahi village under Alara panchayat of Narasinghpur block in Cuttack over the past 15 days, farmers alleged.
According to locals, five sheep died in a single day on Wednesday. Farmers reported that the animals first showed symptoms of nasal discharge, followed by swelling in different parts of the body, before collapsing.
The sudden deaths have triggered panic among livestock owners, who have urged the administration to determine the cause and provide compensation for their losses.
