The Cyber Police in Cuttack have arrested a man for allegedly cheating a young woman to the tune of Rs 3 lakh by promising her a government job in the district administration.
The accused, identified as Satyajit Nayak, a resident of Athagarh in Cuttack district, had assured the woman that he could secure her a Junior Assistant post at the Cuttack Collector's office. Believing him to be trustworthy-as he was from her locality-the woman handed over the amount in good faith.
However, after receiving a fake appointment letter from Satyajit and suspecting foul play, the victim filed a complaint at the Cyber Police Station.
