Puri, Sept. 8 -- The eviction drive in Puri, which was temporarily stopped by the district administration after stiff opposition from the sadhus of different mutts situated close to the Srimandir, resumed today morning amid tight security.

The demolition began today with the razing of Bada Akhada Mutt in presence of the district magistrate. Meanwhile, 30 platoons of police force have been deployed to maintain law and order situation.

As per reports, the demolition of Bada Akhada Mutt complex started with the razing of Languli Mutt. As many 37 shops operating from the building of the mutt will also be demolished today, said sources.
