Bhubaneswar, March 23 -- In a welcome development for consumers, there will be no changes in the electricity tariffs in Odisha this year.

The Odisha State Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) kept the domestic as well as commercial tariffs unchanged.

With no changes in the tariffs, the per unit charge will remain unchanged at Rs 3 for the first 50 units. In the 50-200 units slab, the rate will be Rs 4 per unit.

From 200 to 400 Units, consumers will be charged Rs 5.8 per unit, while consumption above 400 units will be charged Rs 6.20 per unit.

"For domestic consumers, the Delayed Payment Surcharge (DPS) has been waived off. So, the penalty levied after the rebate date will not be charged. Rural consumers will get 10 paisa per unit ...
