India, April 4 -- In a significant boost to India's defense capabilities, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army successfully conducted four flight tests of the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) on April 3 and 4, 2025. The tests took place at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast.
The trials were designed to assess the missile's performance against a variety of aerial threats. Each of the four tests targeted high-speed airborne objects at different ranges and altitudes, including long-range, short-range, high-altitude, and low-altitude scenarios. The missiles precisely intercepted and destroyed their targets, demonstrating their accuracy and operational effectiveness.
