Dostana 2 was first announced with Kartik Aaryan, Lakshya and Janhvi Kapoor in 2019. However, after 21 days of shooting, the sequel to 2008's blockbuster Dostana was put on hold as Koki walked out due to 'creative differences' with Karan Johar. Ultimately, the movie was put on the back burner and reports claimed that the sequel might never happen. However, the latest report suggests that Dostana 2 is back on track with Lakshya. But, Koki is not a part of it despite his compromise with KJo.
