Bhubaneswar, Feb. 23 -- A doctor in the Malkangiri district of Odisha has been arrested over allegations of 'raping' a woman on thefalse promise of marriage. Dr Amit Kumar Sahu, an Ayurveda practitioner based in Motu, is accused of misleading a local woman into an intimate relationship under the pretext of marriage.

Based on the complaint by the victim, police registered a case and made the arrest. He was later produced before the court, reports said.

According to the police complaint, Sahu lured a young woman from the same area into physical relationship, assuring her of marriage. However, he later moved to his native village and married another woman, leaving the complainant devastated.
