Bhubaneswar, Jan. 5 -- Intensifying the probe into the death of two labourers following a massive explosion at an illegal stone quarry blast at Motanga Gopalpur in Dhenkanal district, police on Monday detained two persons in this connection.

The detained individuals include blasting operator Chhabindra Mahakud and one of his associates. Both are currently being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal explosion.

According to preliminary findings, the blast occurred at a stone quarry that did not possess valid permission for blasting activities.
