Sundergarh, Sept. 13 -- Despite Odisha government's claim of taking adequate measures to keep dengue in check, the disease continues to spread its tentacles across several parts of the State. As many as 18 people have been tested positive for dengue in Sundergarh and Gajapati districts.

Out of the 16 persons whose blood samples were collected in Sundergarh, 11 persons were tested positive for dengue. While one of them has recuperated completely, nine others are currently undergoing treatment.

However, Chief District Medical Officer, Pankaj Kumar Patel has said that extensive programmes are being conducted to create awareness on prevention of dengue.
