Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- Delhi University has imposed a month-long ban on meetings, rallies, processions and protests across its campuses, citing concerns over law and order.

The directive was issued by the University Proctor following recent unrest linked to demonstrations over the University Grants Commission's (UGC) proposed equity regulations. The Supreme Court had earlier put the 2026 regulations on hold, observing that certain provisions appeared vague and could potentially be misused. The court said the existing 2012 UGC regulations would remain in force until further review.
