India, March 26 -- A family from Odisha found themselves in an unusual legal predicament after they approached the Orissa High Court over their daughter-in-law taking away their pet dog after a dowry dispute. Expressing clear displeasure towards the complainants for burdening the legal system with a trivial matter, the High Court dismissed the complaint.
The top court saw the case as an unnecessary use of judicial resources. Consequently, the High Court imposed a fine, instructing the complainants to pay Rs 1000 to the High Court Bar Association. The unusual turn of events has unfolded in the city of Cuttack over dowry harassment.
