Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27 -- A developing weather system over the south-west Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Sri Lanka coast has intensified into a low-pressure area as of Thursday morning and is expected to strengthen further within the next 12 hours.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is likely to turn into a deep depression as it tracks north-westwards over the sea. Its formation has triggered fresh concern over a potential cyclone formation in the Bay, even as the agency has not issued any forecast on its impact on Odisha.
