Choudwar, March 16 -- The district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Child Protection Officer recused 42 children after conducting raid on a shelter home, being run by Good News India in Choudwar on Friday. The raid was conducted following reports that the shelter home was allegedly operating illegally despite the centre being closed down at government level in 2018.
It is pertinent to mention here that 22 child care institutions were sealed across Odisha following sexual abuse allegations at Dream Centre Shelter Home at Beltikiri in Dhenkanal in December last year.
"I have no idea as not a single child was staying here as the institute was closed in December last year," said Deepak Parmanik, official of the shelter home.
