Bhubaneswar, Dec. 15 -- A biting cold wave continues to grip Odisha, offering little respite to residents, as harsh early-morning conditions make it difficult for people to step out of their homes. The cold spell remains particularly severe in southern, western and interior districts of the state, where minimum temperatures have stayed consistently low.

According to weather officials, there is no likelihood of any significant change in the minimum night temperature over the next six to seven days. During the past 24 hours, G Udayagiri recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 4.2 degrees Celsius. As many as 12 cities across Odisha reported minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
