Bhubaneswar, Dec. 13 -- A Class 7 student died after collapsing on his way to school in Odisha's Ganjam district on Saturday morning, triggering concern among residents of the area.

The incident occurred at Nimakhandi Pentha under Digapahandi block, where the student was found lying unconscious on the roadside before reaching his school. The deceased has been identified as Akash Goud, a Class 7 student of Radhamohan Vidyapitha.

According to sources, Akash had left home in the morning to attend school when he suddenly collapsed on the road for reasons yet to be officially ascertained.
