Bhubaneswar, Feb. 12 -- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to reintroduce On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class XII as part of its initiatives for the 2026 Board Examinations. The move forms part of a broader set of reforms aimed at strengthening examination and evaluation processes.

On-Screen Marking is a digital evaluation system in which scanned answer scripts are assessed by teachers on computers, with marks calculated automatically through software.

CBSE will conduct the Secondary and Senior Secondary Board Examinations 2026 for students of more than 31,000 affiliated schools in India and 26 countries abroad. The examinations are scheduled to be held from February 17, 2026 to 10 April 2026.
