Bhubaneswar, Dec. 28 -- A car rammed into a patrolling Police Control Room (PCR) vehicle on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway late on Saturday night, causing extensive damage to the police vehicle.
The incident occurred near the Sata Shankha police outpost bridge when the PCR van was engaged in routine night patrolling.
According to police sources, the speeding car hit the PCR vehicle from behind with considerable force. The impact was so severe that one entire side of the PCR van was completely crushed.
At the time of the accident, three police personnel including a sub inspector were present inside the PCR vehicle. Fortunately, none of them sustained injuries, though the vehicle suffered major damage.
