Bhubaneswar, Nov. 24 -- Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away aged 89 in Mumbai. Fondly known as the "He-Man" of Indian cinema, Dharmendra breathed his last on Monday, sources said.
Born on December 8, 1935, in Nasrali, Punjab, Dharmendra began his acting journey with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere in 1960. He rose to stardom in the 1960s and 1970s with a series of acclaimed performances in Phool Aur Patthar, Anupama, Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, and the cult classic Sholay.
Renowned for his blend of rugged charm and emotional depth, Dharmendra redefined the image of the Hindi film hero. His on-screen pairing with Hema Malini and camaraderie with Amitabh Bachchan remain etched in cinematic history.
