The Bolangir Education Department has suspended Hemanjali Hota, the headmistress of Tikrapada UP School in Saithala block, following allegations of physically assaulting a young student.
According to sources, the incident occurred on July 31, when Hota allegedly beat a Class 2 student severely.
The student's father lodged a formal complaint with the local police station and also approached the district administration regarding the matter.
The complaint stated that the child suffered injuries due to the headmistress's actions.
