India, Feb. 14 -- Opposition Chief Whip Pramila Mallik has filed a petition in Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail. However, the specific reasons for her request remain undisclosed at this point.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a search at the residence of Mallik's brother. Connections between this recent search and her move to seek anticipatory bail have not been confirmed by any sources.
Notably, ED had launched extensive raids on the properties of late Khirod Mallik, brother of Pramila, in December last year. The simultaneous raids were conducted in New Delhi and three places in Sambalpur.
