Bhubaneswar, Jan. 13 -- The Covid-19 daily count in Odisha breached 10,000-mark for the first time in nearly eight months today. The State on Thursday reported 10,059 cases, including 872 cases from 0 to 18 years age group, and three deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

The State had last reported over 10,000 cases on May 25, 2021 with 11,623 infections in a day. The State had yesterday recorded 8,778 infections. Out of the total cases, 5,833 were detected in quarantine while 4,226 are local contact cases, said I&PR department.

Khordha district reported maximum 3,188 cases, followed by Sundergarh (1348), Cuttack (870) and Sambalpur (570).
