Bhubaneswar, Dec. 17 -- Indian Railways has taken a major step towards improving passenger convenience by revising the timeline for reservation chart preparation, allowing travellers to check their ticket status much earlier than before. The new move is expected to significantly reduce last-minute anxiety, especially for those on waiting lists.

Until now, the first reservation chart was prepared just four hours before a train's departure. This often left passengers uncertain about their travel plans until the final moments. With the revised system, passengers will now be able to know their confirmed, RAC, or waiting-list status up to 10 hours in advance, making journey planning smoother and more predictable.
