BHUBANESWAR, Jan. 14 -- Keeping in view the below-par performances of students in Plus-II examinations, School and Mass Education department in Odisha has come up with a big announcement which could jolt the irregular students. As per reports, if a student fails in the first year exams, s/he will not be promoted to the second year. The students will have to qualify with 33 per cent marks in the examination.

This was revealed by State School & Mass Education Minister Sameer Dash today.

Speaking to media persons, Dash said, "The first-year students of Plus-II students will not be promoted to the second year if they score less than 33 per cent marks in the annual examination."
