Bhubaneswar, Dec. 26 -- Bharatpur police in Bhubaneswar arrested a man in connection with an alleged cheating case involving Rs 31 lakh, which was reportedly taken on the promise of providing land. The arrest was made on Thursday following a complaint lodged by a woman who claimed she was cheated during a proposed land transaction.

According to the complaint, the woman came in contact with Kumuda Pradhan, a resident of the Bharatpur police station area. He allegedly introduced his father-in-law, Bisikeshan Pradhan, as a land seller and assured the complainant that a plot of land would be provided at a lower price in Gobindpur mouza.
