Bhubaneswar, Nov. 29 -- Former Indian team opener and Odisha cricketer Shiv Sunder Das is among the contenders vying to join the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI's) new senior men's selection committee.

Das is currently employed as a batting coach with Punjab. Prior to that, he worked as a coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and with the Indian women's squad.

The other contenders are Nayan Mongia, Maninder Singh and Ajay Ratra. Hemang Badani is another real contender believed to be in the contest, which he neither confirmed nor denied.

Many of Das' colleagues anticipate that he will be most probably appointed as one of the selectors. If Das is appointed, he will succeed his former Odisha teammate Debasis Mohanty. F...
