Bhubaneswar, Jan. 14 -- A large sum of foreign remittance, credited to the bank account of a man from Odisha's Kendrapara district, drew attention and curiosity on Wednesday.
Ananta Karan, a resident of Aul block in Kendrapara, reportedly received more than Rs 45 lakh in his bank account, transferred from abroad. Sources said Karan had been working overseas for several years, during which his financial condition improved significantly.
The money, credited in the form of dollar remittances, has raised questions locally regarding how and why such a substantial amount was transferred at one time.
