The Baitarani River has surged past the danger mark, unleashing floodwaters across several villages in Bhadrak district and creating a grim situation for local residents.

The river, swelling from continuous rainfall in its upper catchment areas, is now flowing above the danger level near the Akhuapada anicut, causing widespread panic among communities residing in low-lying areas.
